In a world where women were meek, timid creatures, I stood strong and proud above them. In a world where men ruled and their word was law, I controlled the most powerful of them all. I changed the world as I knew it, I reigned over Persia with an iron fist. I, a woman, was the Shah, for all intents and purposes.

I was forced to marry my cousin when I was fifteen. When I reached the ripe old age of twenty five, he sent me away and left me, pregnant, for years, during which he took two other wives, both barely over thirteen. Three years later, I fought my way back to Mazanderan to dispose of my useless husband, his false wives, and all of their bastard children. By the time I was twenty-eight, my own son, my sole child, was the Shah, and he listened to all that I said.

I, Maleka Jahan Khanum, Her Majesty The Mahd-i-'Aliua, was the Shah.
